Notice for new MBBS students
Procedure for application for and allocation of hostel seats

Since the number of hostel seats are limited and in essence two MBBS batches are getting admitted in 2022, the college authority can provide only a limited number of hostel seats for fresh MBBS students at the moment (around 65 – 70 for boys and 25 – 30 for girls). Hence applications are being invited from students desiring to stay in hostel only because the distance of college from their home makes daily commute impossible or very difficult. Mostly dormitory style accommodation is currently available for new first year students.

As decided by the Hostel Committee, the shortest distance of college from home has to be over 50 km for a student to be eligible to apply. Even if this criterion is satisfied, parents are requested to make nonhostel stay arrangements for their ward, if feasible, so that a hostel seat can be opened up for another more needy student.

The application has to be on the prescribed form. Download form here. Please note that:

  1. Application must be complete in all respects.

  2. Recent color passport photo is to be pasted on the form.

  3. Mention date of joining as the date on which you are physically reporting to the college for the first time after taking admission.

  4. Academic session will be 2022-2027.

  5. Attach copy of photo ID, preferably AADHAAR card.

  6. For state quota candidate, attach copy of Domicile Certificate submitted at the time of admission.

  7. Distance will be determined on the basis of permanent address stipulated in Domicile / AADHHAR and by shortest route. Decision of the hostel committee will be final in this regard.

  8. The 20 points mentioned on the second page must be individually agreed to for the application to be valid.

  9. Form must be signed by both student and parent / guardian.

The allotment will be based on decreasing order of distance. Only as many allotments will be made as the number of seats which are available on confirmed basis. Among the total number to be allotted, exact seat allocated will be decided by draw of lots. Every effort will be made to complete the allotment process on the first day itself, so that allotted students can move in on that very day. Students who are eligible but do not get a chance now will get a chance when more seats open up – expected in another 3-4 months time.

Allotted students will have to arrange for clothing, bedsheets, buckets and personal belongings. Basic furniture like cots and mattresses will be provided. Security of personal belongings will be the responsibility of the students concerned
