Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, one of the premier medical institutes of the country, has been offering medical training (M.B.B.S., M.D., & Post-doctoral courses in various subjects). The Institute has produced illustrious alumni who are now luminaries in the field of medicine and successful doctors who are now placed widely in India and abroad. The Institute has contributed to medical science through research and has served the country through patient care. It was a long felt need and cherished dream of the alumni of this institute to form as association where we can come together even after leaving our beloved institute.In the year 2006 - 2007, the institute is celebrating the golden jubilee of our alma mater, and on this glorious occasion, the alumni association was formed. Every alumnus is eager to come closer to each other as well as our alma mater. However, it often becomes difficult because of limitations of time and distance. It was felt necessary to have a website of our alma mater as well as of our alumni association where this difficulty is overcome. This dream has come true.
Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research Alumni Association (IPGMER Alumni Association) founded in 2006, is the formal body of the alumni of this prestigious institute. The association was subsequently registered [Regn.No.:S/1L 35189 of 2005-6; West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961] under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act of 1961.
