Any person irrespective of caste, creed or religion possessing medical qualifications registered under the Indian Medical Council/State Medical Council who has acquired any such qualification through full-time attachment in this Institute and who agrees in writing to be bound by the Memorandum of Association of the Association, shall be eligible for membership.
a) Life Member :
Persons, eligible to be a member (as mentioned in eligibility criteria) on making a lump sum donation as prescribed in the regulations, in cash or in kind, may be admitted as a Life member of the Association by the Executive Committee. All such life members whose names appear on the updated register of members have the right to: i) Nominate, elect or be elected in any election of the Association, and ii) Have voting right in any election of the Association.
b) Associate member :
Any person not eligible to be a member by above clause, but a well-wisher of the Institute & the Association who had been associated with the institute for a considerable term and has contributed significantly to uphold the mission of the Association may be admitted to the Association provided this is approved by the executive committee. Associate members have NO right to participate in election of the Association.
By resignation : A Member may at any time resign from his membership by giving notice in writing to the Secretary together with outstanding dues, if any. After the receipt of such notice, the notice of resignation shall be placed before the next Executive Committee Meeting.
By removal : On the report of gross professional misconduct or such acts as will be detrimental to the avowed objects of the Association., the Executive Committee, after being fully satisfied about the charges made against the member, shall place his/her name before a Special or Ordinary General Meeting. The name of the member shall be removed from the register if two third majority of members present in the meeting vote for such removal.
On his becoming insane or insolvent.
On his conviction of any offence in connection with the formation, promotion, management or conduct of affairs of a society or a body corporate or of any offence involving moral turpitude.
The fees for joining as a life-member or associate member will be decided at the Annual General Meeting. The fees may be paid in cash or by cheque/draft drawn in favor of "IPGMER Alumni Association". Currently, this amount is Rupees Five Hundred only.
The Membership Registration Form is available i) either from the alumni office or ii) can be downloaded from the website and printed/copied. The filled–up form alongwith the fees may be deposited at the alumni office during working hours. An online interactive member registration is also being arranged. However, the members, thus registered, need to register through hard copy and the requisite fees deposited later.
